Austria Remembers Roma, Sinti, and Yenish People Murdered Under National Socialism
Government and church commemorative ceremonies were held in Vienna and Burgenland to honor the victims of the genocide against the Roma, Sinti, and Yenish. In addition to the Parliament, the churches in particular sent a strong message with a historic first at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna.

Introduction of a National Day of Remembrance for Roma and Sinti
The Austrian federal government took a significant step towards recognizing and remembering the Roma and Sinti murdered under National Socialism. August 2 will now be officially introduced as a national day of remembrance to honor the victims of the Holocaust and preserve their memory.
