Regarding the weekly working time, Austria ranks second. The share of employees working in the service industry is slightly below the EU average.

On average, the weekly working time in the EU was 39.8 hours in 2011. With an average working time of 42.2 hours, the U.K. ranks first and is followed by Austria (41.8 hours). Denmark (37.7 hours) is placed at the lower end of the ranking.

In Austria, 9.6% of the employees have a limited work contract. The EU average is 14%. With a share of 27%, Poland ranks first.
