Austria comes out relatively well in a study on the purchasing power of Europe The capital leads the Austrian comparison.

Vienna emerges as the tenth richest region of the EU from a current study with data collected in 2008.  Assessed was the relationship between the GDP and the purchasing power standard. Forty regions are above the 125% average of the EU, four of these regions are in Austria.
