Bulgaria wants to reduce its dependence on Russian energy. The consortium has paid € 48m to Bulgaria.

In August, the consortium filed for a permit to start test drillings in the Bulgarian Black Sea. French Total, Austrian OMV and Spanish Respol expect massive natural gas resources in the Black Sea region.
