Bulgaria: Massive Increase in Foreign Direct Investments

In the first seven months of 2012, FDI was up by 125%. The Netherlands was the biggest investor.

Compared with the first seven months of 2011, Bulgaria recorded a remarkable increase in FDI. From January to July, FDI reached 2.1% of the country´s GDP. This corresponds to € 846.2m. In the reference period, FDI came at € 376.5m (1.0% of GDP). From July 2011 to July 2012, FDI totaled € 2.22bn (+127%).
