Superfund Seeking for Investors in Japan

The Austrian investment fund intends to raise new funds via Japanese institutional investors. The volume is said to account for $ 100m

Superfund now focuses on the Japanese equity market. According to Bloomberg, Superfund already holds conversations with pension funds and other institutional investors to assess about € 73m in the investment fund. Superfund´s CEO Christian Baha, this step is a “change in the company´s strategy”.

In the past, Superfund has been focused mainly on private investors. Now, the investment funds shall be opened now for institutional investors too. According to Baha, the fund has less volatility and does not correlate with other markets. Baha promises a decrease in risk by 20% to 30% as well as higher yields. Since 2008, the fund could record a 11% yield per year. By the beginning of 2012, the new strategy will be implemented.
