OMV and Russian Gazprom will work together on the construction of the Austrian part of the Southstream pipeline.

An unusual alliance has been reached between the two energy groups for the construction of the Southstream pipeline. Southstream itself is a Russian-Italian project, considered as competing with the Nabucco pipeline. The entire Southstream pipeline is estimated to cost about € 15.5bn, and is expected to deliver Russian gas to Southern Europe by 2015. Capacity will be up to 63bn cubic…
