Slovenia: First Budget Surplus in 2013

For the first time this year, Slovenia shows a budget surplus of € 15m. However, the deficit of the first eight months is as high as € 1.3bn, according to data by the Finance Ministry.

Budget revenue decreased six percent from July to € 643m while at the same tame expediture dropped by 15 percent to 627m, according to the first budget calculations for August. Tax income increased six percent to 532m. However, taxes on goods and in the service industry, including VAT, decreased almost 23 percent to € 404m.
