Slovenia: Ex PM Convicted in Patria Case

Former Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa was convicted of bribery on Wednesday in Ljubljana.

Slovenia’s chief opposition leader was sentenced to two years in jail on Wednesday as a result of having been involved in case of corruption. The deal was carried out with Finnish defence company Patria in 2006 and is just one of the corruption scandals having caused public anger over the country’s current financial status.
