After Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic’s party saw an overwhelming victory in the early parliamentary elections the new government is facing a hard road ahead.

According to Belgrade-based national NGO Centre for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID), the Progress Party (SNS) under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, won a landslide victory as around 50 percent of the votes were in their favor. SNS was able to double their votes as in 2012 the party gained more than 24 percent.
