The Black Sea has huge deposits in gas which Romania wants to use to achieve energy autonomy.

Energy independence is one of the key words nowadays. According to Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta, the country is not to far away to reach this status. In about four to seven years Romania could saturate its needs both for citizens and industry by its own ressources, Ponta announced after visiting the offshore platform off the Romanian coast.
