Last week, the EC officially acknowledged that the excessive deficit in Romania has been corrected after a good performance in terms of fiscal consolidation and recommended the countrys exit from the EDP. The budget deficit fell to 2.9 % of GDP in 2012, from as high as 9 % in 2009, after a cut in public wages, a freeze in pensions and a reduction in all social benefits except pensions.…
