Georg Riedel, head of family-owned glass maker Riedel, has announced plans to put more focus on the firm’s investment in China.

Riedel said that wine-drinking had "potential" in China where people gulp down an average half litre a year. Statistics show every Austrian drinks on average 30 litres of wine per year.
Riedel said his Kufstein-based company had recently opened an office in the Chinese city of Shanghai. He added the next step would be getting a foothold in the capital Beijing.
