RHI Invests in Carinthia

The manufacturer of refractory products upgrades its factory in Radenthein, Carinthia for € 2.3m. The capacity at the local subsidiary grows to 80,000 tons per year.

In 2008, when the economic crisis began, the RHI site in Carinthia had to reduce its output. In meantime, the factory is restructured and new investments were made in order to increase RHI´s production capacity.

The director of the factory, Andreas Kriegl, emphasized that business became more stable since the former CEO of voestalpine, Franz Struzl, became chairman of RHI´s executive board.

For 2011, the group revenues are expected to total € 1.5bn to € 1.6bn. Sales of the factory in Carinthia are anticipated to reach € 169m. Kriegl: “We are fully in line with our plans.” At the site, 413 workers are employed.
