According to Polish Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek, Poland will have no difficulties fullfilling the standards set by the European Commission with regard to the budget deficit.

The Finance Minister pointed out that this was due to a higher than anticipated growth in GDP. "We don't expect problems with meeting the commission's obligation related to the public finance sector deficit in 2014," Szczurek said. "It partly results from a better forecast of economic growth - it will certainly be closer to what the [central bank] NBP forecasts than what we have written…
