At the beginning of September, Poland´s government decided to re-nationalize the pension system. Now, the government considers relativizing the reform.

In 1999, Poland privatized its pension funds partially. The big part of the pension scheme is based on bond holdings. At the beginning of September, Poland´s government decided that the privately managed pension funds will be transferred back to the public social security system.
