In view of the accelerating economy, Poland´s fiscal shortfall will be smaller than initially projected, the rating agency Fitch states.

In June, the European Commission stressed that the country must comply to the fiscal stability criteria. Now, the Commission has extended the deadline by one further year. As a result, in the next three years, Poland has to push the budget deficit below 3.0% of GDP. This year, the expected budget deficit comes at 4.4% of GDP.
