The governor of the Austrian National Bank presses the government for swift actions to find an acceptable downsizing solution for Hypo Group. Further steps will only be made in February.

The downsizing procedure of Hypo Group Alpe Adria is currently under discussion in the Federal Chancellery where several bad bank solutions are examined. So far a solid concept has not been found yet. According to Finance Minister Michael Spindelegger, the process will take several months because of the lead time between the finding of the right solution and the start of the downsizing…
