Ewald Nowotny, governor of Austrian Central Bank (OeNB) argues that ECB should not control all banks.

The plan to control all 6,000 banks in the Eurozone would be right. “But ECB must secure that only those tasks, which can be fulfilled correctly and seriously, can be taken over.” Otherwise, this would damage ECB´s reputation. “We have to take care that there are sufficient means to fulfill this supervision task.” Nowotny said.
