President and CEO of FCC, Baldomero Falcones Jaquotot, has been appointed to the function of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Alpine Holding GmbH. Mr Falcones succeeds Dietmar Aluta-Oltyan in this function, who held this position on the Supervisory Board since the beginning of the FCC Group’s participation in the Alpine construction concern in mid-2006. Following the appointment of Johannes Dotter as new CEO in January of this year, this new appointment to the chair of the Supervisory Board is a further step forward in strengthening management structures at Alpine. The current agenda foresees an intensification of joint operations by FCC and their subsidiary Alpine in Central and Eastern Europe.

Baldomero Falcones, the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Alpine, can look back on an extensive and international professional career. Amongst other positions he held, Mr Falcones was formerly Chairman of Santander Central Hispano Seguros, Banco Urquijo Hispano Americano Ltd. London UK, Hispano Americano Sociedade do Investimento Lisboa, Banco Urquijo Chile and a member of the Board of the BHA, BCH and Santander Central Hispano for over 15 years. He also held the position of Chairman of MasterCard International in New York until their flotation on the NYSE. Before joining FCC in 2008, he was Chairman of RWE Spain and launched Magnum Capital Partners, Spain’s largest private equity concern.

Benita Ferrero-Waldner was considered as a potential candidate for the Chairmanship of the Supervisory Board, but declined to stand for election to this time-consuming position due to other pressing engagements. She will, however, continue to serve the company in her function as a member of the Supervisory Board.
