Czech President Milos Zeman has announced the new government of Prime Minister Jiri Rusnok on Wednesday and sworn in. The team of 15 mostly independent experts replaces the cabinet of Petr Necas, who has stepped back due to a corruption scandal.

Jiri Rusnok was sworn in as Prime Minister. Most of the members of Rusnok’s government are independent. However, they are considered as supporters of the extra-parliamentary Party of Civil Rights (SPOZ), which is headed by Zeman. Several Ministeres are former and some of them are still considered Social Democrats (CSSD) and part of the so-called Zeman-wing among CSSD.
