In an interview with the Austrian newspaper Presse, state secretary for European integratition and Montenegro’s chief negotiator Aleksandar Pejovic informs when his country is ready to join the EU.

According to Pejovic, Montenegro has made many improvements over the last years. Yet, the small country does not want to rush into something it was not ready for. Montenegro regards Croatia as a role model with accession talks taking six years. Furthermore, the country does not want to be a burden for the EU when joining but ready and prepared.
