The introduction of the Euro in the Baltic country has been postponed due to the financial crisis. Latvia originally planned to join the single currency union in 2008 already.

The time has come for Latvia. On January 1 2014 the Baltic state will join the Eurozone as the 18th member after it has been put on hold because of the economic crisis.
The designs for the coins have therefore been determined for a while and they are minted in the German city Stuttgart, according to Latvian media reports. Ltv.tv showed the first coins on July 18. The…
