Overall situation of the Austrian labor market improved in 2011 compared to 2010.

The number of people employed in Austria increased to a total of 4.162 million in the fourth quarter of 2011 (last quarter of 2010: 4.134 million). According to Statistics Austria, the rise in the fourth quarter (+28 100) was lower than in the third quarter (+52 800).
