According to the International Monetary Fund, the income redistribution is not sufficient. In general, Lithuania´s economic performance is satisfying, however.

After a meeting with Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius, the IMF stressed that the country has managed a remarkable recovery. However, Lithuania´s income redistribution through fiscal policies is not enough. After the severe economic crisis in 2009, Lithuanias government has cut social benefits, salaries of civil servants and pensions drastically.
