Lithuania to Join Eurozone in 2015

According to Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius, the country will introduce the euro in the medium term.

On the occasion of a working visit in the neighbor country Latvia, Butkevicius said that Lithuania will adopt the euro in 2015. “However, everything has go to plan.” he said. In the next years, Lithuania has to continue its austerity policy. With a debt-to-GDP ratio of 39%, Lithuania is significantly below the EU average.
