IMF Issues Optimistic Forecast for Slovakia

According to IMF, Slovakia´s economy will grow by 3.3% this year. However, the forecast had to be reduced compared to the prior forecast.

In July, IMF anticipated a GDP growth of 3.5% in 2012. Now, the forecast had to be cut to 3.3%. However, this is still highly favorable compared to the rest of the Eurozone. This year, the Eurozone faces a recession. GDP is expected to shrink by 0.2%.

Next year, the Slovak GDP should increase by 3.6%, which is 0.3 percentage points less than in the prior statement.
