Hofer making 'organic' profits

Growth drivers are milk, fruit and vegetables. After a crisis based collapse in 2008 and 2009, the organic market increased significantly this year.

From January to April 2010 a food retail sales plus of 40 percent was achieved, sales of organic products rose by nearly 30 percent to €110.44m ($140.06).

In particular, the Hofer-brand "Zurück zum Ursprung" provided the "decisive impetus" said Stephan Mikinovich, managing director of AMA Marketing, on Monday.
