EU Commission to Examine Slovenian Bank Restructuring Plan

Slovenia has sent the restructuring plan for its third largest bank, Abanka Vipa, to the EU Commission.

The approval of the plan is expected to be given in the coming months which will then serve as foundation for the recapitalization of the financial institute and the transfer of bad loans to the public bad bank. Last week the EU Commission gave light to further temporary state aids for Abanka after permission was also given to NLB and NKBM.
