Head of the Czech Social Democrats (CSSD), Bohuslav Sobotka, was sworn in as new Prime Minister by President Milos Zeman on Friday afternoon.

The swearing-in took place at Prague castle. The appointment of the rest of the members of the future cabinet will take place in the last week of January.
