The Czech government remains for the time being. Before, the smallest governing party seemed to leave the coalition.

At the end of December, the smallest coalition party LIDEM (liberal democratic party) has terminated the coalition with ODS and TOP09. Prime Minister Petr Necas (ODS) has dismissed LIDEM´s party leader Karolina Peake as Minister of Defense after only one week. According to Necas, Peake has fired three ministry officials.
