After months of controversies, the Czech Chamber of Deputies approved the government´s taxation plans.

The Czech governing parties overruled the veto by the senate and resolved the VAT increase. Thus, the tax increases from 20% to 21% and from 14% to 15% respectively. 102 members of the Chamber of Deputies were in favor of the tax increase. The minimum is 101 votes. Now, President Vaclav Klaus has to ratify the law.
