Croatia´s National Bank is said to increase the coverage ratio for non-performing loans.

According to the Croatian daily newspaper “Poslovni dnevnik”, Croatia´s National Bank considers tightening the lending criteria. At the moment, the coverage ratio for non-performing loans comes at 42%. Although the core capital quota is relatively high in Croatia, banks may be obliged to build more reserves. In Austria, the average coverage ratio comes at more than 70%.
