In line with the global trend, Austrian consumers have recently become less optimistic. Major concerns are rising cost of living and the general economic situation.

Despite a slight drop in confidence in the second quarter of the year Austrian consumers are still more optimistic than most other Europeans. This is the result of the latest Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) calculated by Nielsen based on the opinion of 31,000 respondents from more than 50 countries.
