Share prices of the Italian UniCredit fell drastically over the last days. The major bank urgently needs a capital increase.

Over the last three trading days, UniCredit´s share price fell by 37%. Nevertheless, CEO Frederico Ghizzoni stated to be optimistic that the capital increase, which starts by Monday, will be successful. The capital increase program has a volume of € 7.5bn. “We are waiting with confidence for the capital increase.”, Ghizzoni is cited in “Corriere della Sera”.
