Chancellor Kurz is Giving a Speech with 3 Major Topics

On Friday, Chancellor Kurz is giving a speech concerning the current situation in Austria and the planned political content of the following months. The three major topics are economy and labour, digitization and education as well as social cohesion and civil society involvement.

At the beginning of his speech on Friday, he wants to talk about the Coronavirus crisis and the forecasted situation in Austria. He is also discussing the current status of possible COVID-19 vaccines and medicines.

The most important task for the next season will be the management of the crisis and the avoidance of a collapse or a overloading of the health care system.

It is also important for the Chancellor to improve the social coherence and to reduce the effects of a world economic crisis in Austria by the efficient usage of digitalisation.

Due to the Coronavirus crisis, the demand in home schooling and home office increased unprecedently strong and therefore major investments in digitalisation are necessary. The investments should also promote job creations in ecological future industries.

In his speech the Chancellor also wants to address the emotional impact which the lockdown had on the citizens. Even though, social distancing and the protection of risk groups was necessary, it led to a feeling of loneliness of many people. Thus, it will be crucial to introduce concepts to improve the social coherence and engagement.

It is also important to the Chancellor to work internationally on the problems which occurred because of the Corona crisis.
