The European Commission has published its first Anti-Corruption Report today. Above all, the economies in Southern and Southeastern Europe are suffering from corruption.

By presenting an analysis of corruption within each of the EU's Member States, the steps taken to prevent and fight it, and possible ways to improve them, it aims to support and the anti-corruption work in EU Member States, shore up political commitment to the fight against corruption, and identify how the European dimension can help.
