In September the current account was positive (€ 332.7m), which is typical for that month of the year, mainly due to the realization of revenues from tourism and agricultural exports, Raiffeisen Research states.

Due to the weakening of these favourable factors compared to the summer months of the year, the surplus declined on a monthly basis. However, the decline in the current account vs. August was unusually small (€ 85.8m) and therefore compared to a year earlier it posted a dynamic positive growth (€ 313.9m), on the back of improvement of all its major components.
