The Brno-based company focuses on the production of biomass boilers and gas turbine waste heat boilers for the use in gas-fired combined cycle power plants. Once part of the French Alstom group, the company together with the sites of Alstom in Germany was purchased by Mirko Kovats five years ago and integrated in the AE&E plant manufacturer segment of his A-Tec Industries group.

After AE&E had become bankrupt last year, a solution was now found for its Czech subsidiary. The company will be acquired by Bilfinger Berger and expand the group’s Power Services segment. This part of the group achieved revenue of € 1.1bn in the last year with a staff of 7,000.

The acquisition of AE&E CZ s.r.o. is subject to approval by the Austrian Federal Competition Authority. The companies involved do not expect any objections by the authority.
