Bank Tax in Poland?

The Polish government is considering levying taxes on banks already in 2011. From the Austrian perspective, Raiffeisen Bank International would be affected.

According to the Polish Finance Minister, Jacek Rostowksi, a billion zlotys from bank taxes might flow into the state coffers already in 2011. The funds are earmarked for a fund to rescue Polish banks in distress, should the need arise.
