The advisory group pwc has issued a new report on the asset quality of Austrian banks. In terms of asset quality, Hungary and Romania are performing worst.

According to pwc, the loan portfolio of Austrian banks in the CESEE region totals € 400bn. More than 11% of the loans are risky, which corresponds to € 46bn. About 30% of the bad loans are held by the six biggest Austrian banks (Erste Group, RBI Raiffeisen Bank International, Bank Austria, Hypo Group, Bawag, VBAG).
