Austria’s Exposure in Italy: € 16.5bn
Domestic banks’ exposure in the neighboring country is much greater than in Greece, but smaller than in Eastern Europe.

According to latest data from the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), Austrian banks’ receivables from Italian debtors amounted to $ 22.16bn at the end of 2010, which corresponded to approximately € 16.5bn at that time. Austria’s exposure to Greece recently stood at only € 2.3bn.
