Austria Achieved Positive Current Account in 2011

Last year, Austria´s current account reached a surplus of 1.9% of the GDP.

In spite of the difficult frame conditions, Austria recorded a € 5.9bn trade account surplus. This corresponds to 1.9% of Austria´s GDP. OeNB (Austrian Central Bank) underlined that the international competitiveness could be retained.
