First signs of a weakening labor market: The number of unemployed rose by 0.4% to 219,247 in August. Job vacancies were down 6.7%.

According to data of the Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS), the unemployment rate rose for the first time in 17 months. The number of unemployed persons increased by 0.4% to 219,247 in August, while that of participants in training courses dropped by 13.8% to 54,214.
