Alpine’s Insolvency could cost thousands of people’s jobs. According to Social Minister Rudolf Hundstorfer, the Social Ministry would utilize all means to prevent a worst-case scenario. Alpine's affiliate in Germany is filing for bankruptcy as well.

The latest status shows that 4,905 of approx. 7,500 employees in Austria are concerned by the construction company’s insolvency. Hundstorfer expects that the number of employees concerned will stay under 5,000 even if it is highly uncertain that all jobs will remain at one of Alpine’s affiliate.
