Agrana Interested in Hellenic Sugar

The Austrian sugar and starch company is said to be interested in an acquisition of the Greek company which incurred a loss of € 27.1m in the last year.

According to a report of the Greek newspaper “Imerisia”, the Agricultural Bank of Greece is planning to divest its divisions which are not part of the core business. These include an investment in the listed Hellenic Sugar, which recorded revenues of € 257.4m and a loss of € 27.1m in the financial year 2010.
