Fire Brigade Equipment Supplier Rosenbauer: Profit Halved in 2017
Despite a record order intake, the profit of the Upper Austrian firefighting equipment supplier Rosenbauer halved in the 2017 financial year. This was partly due to a slump in demand in the Middle East and North Africa, but also to the recently reported irregularities at a German subsidiary, which led to a write-down of EUR 3.5 million.

Rosenbauer International AG / Results of the Rosenbauer Group for 2017 Influenced by Impairment
During the preparation of the annual financial statements, irregularities at an investee in Germany were determined. On the basis of the current state of knowledge of the 2017 consolidated financial statements, these irregularities lead to an extraordinary impairment of EUR 3.5 million. A forensic examination by Internal Audit with the assistance of external experts was instigated immediately. The Executive Board will provide the necessary structural and personnel resources and implement further measures after the result of the forensic examination is known.

Rosenbauer: Preliminary Figures 2017
Rosenbauer is reporting EBIT of EUR 25.6 million for the 2017 financial year (2016: EUR 47.0 million). In particular, the decline in the Group's earnings is due to the decreased delivery volume in 2017 as a result of the low price of oil and ongoing political conflicts. This led to weak capacity utilization in some production areas.

Rosenbauer has received an order from airport operator Royal Schiphol Group for the delivery of 18 ARFF vehicles. The Schiphol Group is re-equipping Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Lelystad Airports: 13 PANTHER 8x8 ARFF vehicles will be commissioned in Amsterdam, three PANTHER 6x6 ARFF vehicles in Rotterdam, and two PANTHER 6x6 ARFF vehicles in Lelystad.

Revenue and earnings development The Rosenbauer Group generated revenues of EUR 393.6 million in the first half of 2017 (1-6/2016: EUR 383.4 million). While decreases in deliveries were observed in some Middle Eastern countries, deliveries were on the rise in parts of Europe, such as the Netherlands.

The Panther 8x8 is the most powerful aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle from Rosenbauer. To take account of the company's continued development and the increasingly complex requirements in international business, the Supervisory Board of Rosenbauer International AG decided at its meeting on May 3, 2017, to reorganize the Executive Board as of May 15, 2017, and expand it with an additional Chief Sales Officer. This position will be filled by Andreas Zeller (45), who has been working at Rosenbauer since 2003. Andreas Zeller was previously responsible for the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) sales region and is the managing director of Rosenbauer Saudi Arabia. After completing his studies at the Technical University of Graz, he worked as a marketing and product manager for poly extinguishing systems at Lenzing Technik GmbH.

Rosenbauer International AG / Revenues up slightly at EUR 870.8
The Rosenbauer Group's revenues amounted to EUR 870.8 million in the 2016 financial year (2015: EUR 865.4 million) and remained satisfactory in spite of the downturn in demand on major markets due to political unrest and the low price of oil. The regional declines in revenues were compensated by a further expansion of business on the developed markets, such as North America and Europe, and in the equipment sector.

The Rosenbauer Group's revenues reached a top level of EUR 864 million in the 2015 financial year (2014: EUR 813.8 million), marking a year-on-year increase of 6%. This rise in revenues was possible due primarily to the good economic situation and the stronger U.S. dollar in North America. In some Asian countries, the low oil price was already reflected in a lower propensity to invest among customers, but Rosenbauer nonetheless continued its revenue growth in Arab countries.

The Rosenbauer Group continued its growth in the first half of 2015. Consolidated revenues increased by 14% to EUR 416.9 million (1-6/2014: EUR 367.2 million) in the first six months. In addition to increased deliveries to Arabic countries, this revenue growth was attributable in particular to deliveries by the US companies in comparison to the same period of the previous year. The disclosure of the revenues figures for 2014 was also adjusted due to the review of the criteria for segment reporting.
