Austria Signs Historic Digital Partnership with Saudi Arabia
Austria is launching a comprehensive technology and digital partnership with Saudi Arabia. Alexander Pröll, State Secretary for Digitalization, traveled to Riyadh in late August and early September 2026 with a high-level Austrian business and research delegation to lay the groundwork for a new era of bilateral cooperation at the prestigious LEAP 2026 technology conference. In addition to strategic cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI), the trip also yielded concrete successes for the domestic economy: The Styrian technology company AVL is on the verge of securing a major contract.
