Upward Trend for Austria's Machinery and Metal Products Industry
The Austrian machinery and metal products industry has recovered in 2010 from a very difficult previous year. Orders increased to € 29.6bn (+18.3%), production to € 32.7bn (+6.5%).

"For this year we expect an increase in output in the high single digits," said Clemens Malina-Altzinger, Chairman of the Association of the Austrian Machinery & Metalware Industries, optimistically. However, the industry will take some time to regain the high level of 2008.
