Telekom Austria: Net Loss of € 253m

Revenues were down by 4.2%. The major impact was the last quarter with losses of € 322m.

Today, the Telekom Austria Group announced its results for the full year and the fourth quarter 2011 ending 31 December 2011. Revenues declined by 4.2% to € 4,454.6m during 2011.Excluding the impacts from foreign exchange translations in all segments and hyperinflation accounting Group revenues increased by 0.5 % to € 4,674.6m.

Group EBITDA comparable, which does not include effects from restructuring and impairment tests, declined by 7.2% to € 1,527.3m during the full year 2011. Excluding the impact from foreign exchange translations in all segments and hyperinflation accounting Group EBITDA comparable declined by 1.6 % to € 1,619.6m.

The financial result increased due to higher foreign exchanges losses following the Belarusian ruble devaluations. All together, net income turned from a net gain of € 195.2m in 2010 to a net loss of € 252.8m in 2011.

For the full year 2012 management expects Group revenues to amount to approximately € 4.4bn. Group EBITDA comparable, which does not include effects from impairment and restructuring tests, is expected to amount to approximately € 1.5bn. Operating free cash flow will remain a key priority for Telekom Austria Group’s management and is expected to amount to approximately € 0.75bn. For 2012, the management intends to distribute a dividend of € 0.38 per share. As of 2013, the payout ratio remains at 55% of free cash flow to the extent that the dividend does not lead to a deterioration of Group equity.
